2022 has been an incredible year as the acknowledgments of our hard work and success continue to roll in.
A big thank you to the Standard Bank Top Woman Awards for our recognition as a finalist in the Top Gendered-Empowered Organisations: Youth Development category – Leanne Manas, what a superb job done as MC.
As a uniquely significant event celebrating excellence in gender empowerment, it was an absolute privilege to share the room with some of South Africa’s most accomplished women Leaders, including the former Deputy President of South Africa, Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.
Thank you Margaret Nienaber, Standard Bank Group’s COO for bringing so many top woman leaders and inspirational woman entrepreneurs together, “Africa is our home, we drive her growth in everything that we do.”
The significance of this is so powerfully presented by Standard Bank who recently welcomed its first female chairman, Nonkululeko Nyembezi, to show the Group’s commitment towards women empowerment and upliftment.
Thank you to the Honourable Mmamoloko Kubayi, minister of Human Settlements, for delivering such an inspirational keynote address, to “continue to redefine the social consciousness that places men at the center of everything; continue to defy the stereotypes that always place women at a disadvantage”, and such an honour for our team to engage with Yvonne Chaka Chaka, internationally recognised South African singer-songwriter, who was recognised as a Standard Bank Top Women Lifetime Achiever, in 2017. I could not be more proud of our team for making the successes of this year all possible.
As the end of 2022 fast approaches, I would like to take a moment to share my sentiments of encouragement – building a business of your dreams is not always easy, but the moments of achievement along the way bring perspective to just how worthwhile the journey really is.
